COVID-19 Information and Updates

On 11th March 2020, the World Health Organisation declared COVID-19 (also known as Coronavirus) a pandemic.
The situation is changing on a daily basis, and SIRU will be working closely with ACT & SNSW Rugby Union to understand the information being put out by relevant government and health authorities. A lot of the information is taken from the NSW Office of Sport Website, click here to access.

In accordance with the current Public Health Order, all Community Sporting Events must have a COVId-19 Safety Plan and be registered as a COVID Safe Business. All Clubs within SIRU will meet these requirements during the 2021 season, whilst also monitoring for any changes to the restrictions if provided.

ACT & SNSW Rugby Union have updated the 2020 document which helped Clubs Return To Play, to provide CLubs with key details and checklists of what they need in a training and match day environment (see below).

Currently in NSW, all Outdoor Community Sport Events can have up to 3000 attendees (including participants, staff and officials) if the venue allows for 1 person per 2 square metres. These calculations should be done outside the Field of Play.

If you or your club have any queries regarding COVID-19, please contact Jack Heffernan for more information.
