Twelve months after three clubs left Southern Inland, this year’s annual general meeting was a much quieter occasion.
David Adamson survived a challenge from Jim Kimball to retain his role as Southern Inland president. The departure of Temora, Cootamundra and Young saw first grade teams drop from 11 to eight in 2016, but going off a relatively speedy meeting on Sunday the changes have been well received. SIRU rugby manager Mick McTaggart said there were no big issues brought up by the clubs. One of the biggest talking points was the battle for presidency. .................

Thanks to those Club & Affiliate representatives who attended the SIRU AGM & Council Meeting yesterday (Dec 4) in Wagga. The following people were elected to various positions on the SIRU Board for 2017; President - Dave Adamson Vice Presidents – Carl King (Seniors Rugby) & Linden Gunn (Juniors Rugby) Directors - Marty Hogan, Harriet Elleman, Warwick Grant & Mark Harris Congratulations to all these people and thanks again you for your time & support. This is early bird notice that the SIRU AGM and Council Meeting (to follow the AGM) will be held on Sunday, December 4 at Romano’s Hotel, Wagga commencing at 2.00pm More details concerning the AGM & Council Meeting will be forwarded to Clubs & Affiliates in the near future. The Current SIRU Board comprises of a President, 2 Vice Presidents and not more than 6 Directors but a Special Resolution will be put forward at the AGM this year by the SIRU Board to reduce the number of Directors to ‘not more than 4 Directors’.
