The Season Draw has arrived! Following the first SIRU Board Meeting of 2019, there was much discussion on how the season should be structured, when the competition should begin, and more importantly when the competition should finish with the change to a 3-week finals series in 2019. The Board came to an agreement of a start date of April 6th, and a new concept with a 16-Round season in 2019. Round 1 will be "Rivalry Round" with teams playing against their local and traditional Rivals. Round 2 will be "Country Round' with all Wagga based teams travelling to play away games. Rounds 3-16 will follow the traditional 14 Round structure with each team playing an opposition twice (both Home and Away). There will be 3 Byes during the season, Easter Long Weekend, June Long Weekend (SIRU Representative Fixture) and May 11th (City v Country in Leeton on May 12th). Brumbies Provincial (week after June Long Weekend) will no longer be a competition bye as it has in the past. Following the regular season Finals will occur with Grand Finals to be held on August 31st.
