SIRU Announces Changes to Grand Finals Hosting Rights

Please be advised of the changes as to who will be eligible to host our Grand Finals this year on Saturday August 26
 
    As with  the past 2 years there will again  still be a Top 5 Finals series for 1st Grade, 2nd Grade and Women’s 7-A-side.The 
 
    The 1st Grade Minor Premier’s Club will  again host Week 2 of the Finals on Saturday August 12 where both Major & Minor Semi Finals will be held
 
    The WINNER of the 1st Grade  Major Semi Final will then be given the opportunity to HOST the Grand Finals on Saturday, August 26.
 
    SIRU will still receive the Gate Takings from all the Finals (including the Grand Finals)
 
    The SIRU Board voted in favour of this variation at their Board Meeting last week but please note  the Board will Review the change at the end of the season and at the Council Meeting after this year’s AGM.
   
    It must be stressed that these Changes will only happen whilst we (SIRU) continue with our current Competition Format (same number of Clubs) and that only 4 Grand Finals are played on Grand Finals Day
 
    If either Wagga Ag or CSU hosts and wins a 1st Grade  Major Semi Final these Finals will be played at Conolly Rugby Complex and the winning Club would be offered the exclusive rights to running both the Canteen and the Bar at Conolly on Aug 26
 
    Changes to the Format for our Finals & Grand Finals were discussed at length by Club representatives  at last year’s Council Meeting and the abovementioned change is the response from the Board
